Famous People That Have Valentine's Day Birthdays

I thought it would be interesting to see how many people have or had Valentine’s Day as their Birthday. From all that I found I have complied a list of four that I think are interesting people. 

Jack Benny 1894 – 1974 American Comedian born as Benjamin Kubelsky in Chicago Illinois. Jack, no matter how old he got would always say that he was 39. He would tell a joke and to get a laugh with one word he would say exasperated (which was his signature) “Well”!. This man had a very interesting life not only as a comedian but also as a vaudevillian and an actor for radio, TV and in movies. One of his famous quotes is “Age is strictly a case of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.”

Jimmy Hoffa 1913 – No one is really sure when he died but was declared legally dead in 1982. He disappeared in 1975. Born in Brazil, Indiana moving to Detroit when he was seven and stayed there for the rest of his life. When Hoffa was a teenager he was working in a grocery store making poor wages. Fellow workers wanted to organize a union and chose Jimmy to lead the way as they felt he was brave and approachable. After loosing his job at the grocery store in 1932 because of his union activities he joined the Teamsters local 299. In 1933 the local had 75,000 members and three years later with great help from Jimmy there were 170,000 members. In 1957 Jimmy Hoffa became president of the Teamsters. Hoffa spent 58 months in prison after being convicted of attempted bribery of a grand juror in Tennessee and for fraud for improper use of the Teamster’s pension fund.

Merl Saunders 1934 – 2008 Jazz, blues and new age rock keyboardist and musical director was born in San Mateo, California learned how to play piano at ten years old. Jammed with the Grateful Dead, was very close to Jerry Garcia and was known as the “Gentle lion of the San Francisco music scene”. Always smiling loving every minute of his musical career. While in high school he played in a band with Johnny Mathis and has performed and recorded with musicians such as B.B. King, Miles Davis, Harry Belafonte, Bonnie Raitt and Frank Sinatra.

Raymond Teller Magician, illusionist, comedian and writer born 1948 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania better know as the silent one from the duo from Penn and Teller. He has always wanted to be known as just Teller and had his name changed legally and on his US passport it states Teller with no first name. While teaching high school he always had his students call him Teller not Mr. Teller. Author of When I ‘m Dead all This will Be Yours and Joe Teller A Portrait of His Kid which is a biography and memoir to his father. 

Florence Henderson born in 1934 actress singer best known for her Role in the Brady Bunch as Carol Brady.

Meg Tilly Actress, dancer, and writer born in 1960 starred in The Big Chill, Body Snatchers, Valmont and Psycho II and to date has written four novels.

Rob Thomas born in 1972 in West Germany is a Rock Singer, songwriter and is the lead singer of Matchbox Twenty.

Mike Bloomberg (Bloomy) born in Brighton, an area in Boston, in 1942, is the 108^th mayor of New York City. Recorded as the tenth richest person in the United States with a net worth of $18 billion in 2010.
