Sounds like a neat gadget...that I must have or this would make a nice Xmas gift....
I have a garlic press but not a grater. I think it's kinda cute. I have never heard of it though, think I'll get one.
Hi Susan...my room mate doesn't use garlic...she abuses it. Yet...always yummy. Thanks for helping me cross of one gift off that Christmas list! Voted Up, useful and interesting!
I love garlic. I would use this grater. Thank's for the info.
I use a lot of garlic but I have never used fresh garlic... I always go for the stuff that is either in the can that stays refrigerated or the stuff in the spice aisle... however, I am always up for a new kitchen gadget. Maybe I will have to change it up a little just to have an excuse to get this! :)
I think my finance needs this he is a garlicholic!
I use a lot of everything you mentioned! Orange and lemon zest, ginger, garlic - and this sounds awesome! I use a garlic press but unless I use salt I can't get a good paste ( which is great as a spread on a hot slice of baguette bread) and the press makes my fingers sticky:(. Ginger also is tough to dice small (it's got that hairy like stuff I find hard to cut). Ok - sorry! But I want one of those (you know how much I love cooking and I'm easily excitable)! Lol
REALfoodie, I use garlic all the time too, and when I saw this grater I just had to have it.
marellen, Yes this would make an excellent Christmas gift.
Cardisa, I have always used a garlic press but after getting this grater I think I will be using it more than the press.
ThoughtSandwiches, Thanks and I am sure your room mate will love this.
Ruby, It would make a great addition to anyone's kitchen.
barbergirl, Fresh garlic is so much better and I am sure once you start using fresh you will love it.
dreams, I am in search of a garlic festival close to where I live as I too am a garlicholic :)
RH, When I found this at the fair the other day I couldn't wait to get home and use it. The garlic comes out just like in the video. When you use with ginger, the smell is amazing :)
Facinating! This looks like a must in my kitchen. I love to cook and bake. Do they sell them in stores or do you need to order them online? Thanks for sharing!
tipoague,
I found mine at a fair and just went to check to see if they are available in stores but could not find any. I am sure if you went to a garlic festival or upcoming large fair you may find one there. But Amazon does sell them for less than what I paid for mine.
I'm telling you - I'm getting one. I may even sleep with it under my pillow:) lol.
RH, You won't be sorry, I love mine :).
Ginger and garlic are not only great spices but also herbs that cures many disease. Thanks for this useful hub.
This was news to me, and it looks like a useful tool to have in the kitchen! I will see if I can find one. Thanks for the info!

Binaya, Thanks for reading and for your comments.
Tina, Hope that you are able to find one.
I eat about a head of garlic a week, so this is really helpful. Thanks for bringing this to my attention
Joe, I made mashed potatoes last night and added the grated garlic to them. They were so good! I use a lot of garlic myself and I am so glad that I found this grater.
Omgosh I was so excited to see this!!! I loved this product when I saw it for the first time I was fascinated by this dish and to see somebody who has actually used it... now I really want one! lol. Thanks :-)
mythical, When I saw the garlic grater being demonstrated, I had to have it. It works great!
thank you for writing about this cool tool! I love garlic....I use fresh garlic almost everyday so I think I need this....thank you Susan!!
Nick, you are very welcome and I am sure you would like this grater as much as I do.
Susan, I use/eat garlic every single day in life - literally. I have even been known to munch whole cloves of raw garlic, I am so addicted to it. (That went down so well when I worked in a busy office environment! :) ) I grate garlic quite a lot, using the old, traditional hand grater and have never heard of this tool. Sounds perfect for me - thanks!
Gordon, Raw garlic cloves are a food staple are they not? I try not to eat them when I am going to be around a lot of people however. I find that this garlic grater is a bit easier on the fingers compared to the traditional hand grater.
My Mom bought this chopper thing for veggies - It's like a Guillotine for vegetables - but it chops em' into LOTS of little pieces.
WHACK!!!
~done~
I never get to use it though - it's just me and my big ol' kitchen knife.
Todd, I tend to use a knife for chopping vegetables too.
What a great little tool. I feel like I just watched and infomercial. Now where is that credit card? Gimme the phone honey. 1-800-Get Garlic.
Nice kitchen utensil! This would make a fantastic gift for my dad! He always taught me that garlic, butter, and sugar makes the world go round! Voted up and useful!
Hyphenbird, Come on I know you want one :)
I love mine.
TattooKitty, It works really well and is great for ginger, chocolate, nutmeg and cinnamon too.
Indeed I do want one. However I know me. I cannot bear having stuff around so it would go to the thrift store soon. So I will long from afar. lol
LOL okay. If you should ever want to I'll let you borrow mine :)
What a wonderful device.
Thanks for sharing this useful kitchen tool. There's nothing to compare to the flavor and aroma of fresh garlic in dishes.
