Grace Kelly (Brett Butler)

This TV sitcom mom is from an older TV show called “Grace Under Fire”. It was about a single mom named Grace Kelly, who was played by stand-up comedian actress Brett Butler.

It ran from 1993 – 1998. Grace was a recovering alcoholic who had divorced her abusive alcoholic husband. She has three children; Quinton the eldest, daughter Libby a and baby boy named Patrick.

Personally I just love Brett’s humor. I find her to be very funny and I rarely missed one of these shows.

Brett has suffered from depression and has a drug addiction to alcohol and marijuana. She was fired from the show due to wild behavior because of these addictions. We have not seen much of her after this sitcom ended. In 2008 she did say she wanted to write a second book. Her first being “Knee Deep In Paradise” about her life before becoming a celebrity.

Update on Brett Butler

Brett is playing the role of bartender on Charlie Sheen's new show Anger Management. I was thrilled when I saw her on Charlie's new show.

Jill Taylor (Patricia Richardson)

I am sure many people will remember the sitcom “Home Improvement” that aired from 1991 to 1999. Jill, played by Patricia Richardson, was married to Tim Taylor, played by Tim Allen. This show was based around Tim having a TV show called Tool Time. Tim loved power tools and was always wanting “More Power”.

Jill and Tim had three sons on the show and a philosophical neighbor named Wilson. Jill would always go into her backyard and talk across the fence to Wilson. You'd never actually see Wilson's face but you'd hear his voice. Jill was always ask asking him for advise, which in turn he'd be happy to give.

I always enjoyed the whit, and humor of Jill on this show and could picture myself as her. After Home Improvement Patricia Richardson went on to play more dramatic roles.

Lucy Ricardo (Lucille Ball)

“I Love Lucy”, played by Lucille Ball, was one of my all time favorite shows when I would watch the re-runs. This show aired from 1951 to 1957.

Lucy’s husband Ricky Ricardo was played by Desi Arnaz. These two actors were married both on set and off. Ricky was a Cuban American singer and bandleader.

Lucy was always getting herself into some kind of trouble and was quite the clown. Little Ricky their son came into the show in the second season.

Lucy always wanted to sing in show business with her husband but she could not sing for the life of her.

I Love Lucy was the most watched TV show in the USA and can still today be seen all over the world.

Samantha Stevens (Elizabeth Montgomery)

Would I ever like to have the powers that Samantha Stevens, played by Elizabeth Montgomery, had on this TV sitcom called “Bewitched”. All she had to do was wiggle her nose, snap her fingers or wave her arms and poof the vacuum cleaner cleans the house, poof everything is done.

Samantha is married to Darin Stevens, (Durwood, DumDum or Darwin, as Samantha’s mother played by Agnes Moorehead called him) played by Dick York then, and later by Dick Sargent.

Darren is mortal but all of Samantha’s families are witches and warlocks. Even their two children Tabatha and Adam have supernatural powers.

Bewitched ran from 1964 – 1972. It was quite funny seeing how Samantha tried to live a normal life with mortals while at the same time hiding the fact that she was a witch.
