Pork Chops Baked With Cream Of Mushroom Soup Recipe

By

Many people make this recipe in one way or another and I thought that I would share my way of making one of my favorite comfort foods with all of you.

I used to fry the pork chops first but later found that I liked this recipe much better by just baking them with all the ingredients on the top of the chops.

In this picture I have used five pork chops. You can use any kind of pork chops you like. Shoulder chops work very well with this recipe.

Ingredients

5 Pork chops

3 Stalks of celery chopped

2 Medium onions sliced

4 Large potatoes unpeeled and sliced

2 Cans of Campbell’s mushroom soup. (You can use any brand you like)

______________________________________________________________

Line a roasting pan with foil (Way easier to clean up afterwards)

Place your pork chops in the bottom of the pan.

Add your celery, onion slices, and sliced potatoes

Mix 2 cans of mushroom soup with ¾ of a can of milk and ¼ can of water mix really well

Pour over your chop mixture

Cover with tinfoil

Place in a 300 F degree oven for about 1½ hours

Take out of oven and remove foil. Place back in oven for about fifteen minutes

That's awesome. What a fantastic recipe idea. I never thought of adding potatoes to the pork chops. I'm going to try out this recipe next week. My husband loves pork chops!

Susan, I wanted you to know that I've tried this recipe yesterday along with a side dish of broccoli and it was delicious just as you said. Thank You.

I had to check this recipe out. My mom used to make something like this and it brought back memories. Thanks.

This also works well with cream of broccoli and chicken. Just cover the pieces with the undiluted soup right out of the can and bake.

Julie, I have been making this recipe for so many years now and actually my step-mother used to make a recipe some what similar to this one too. Thanks for checking it out.

Will, yes those soups work too as well as cream of celery. Have never made it with chicken but will have to try that. Thanks

This is great - it's what I'm going to make tonight - then your salmon, shepherds pie and cabbage rolls!

Thanks so much! I just asked the girls what they wanted for dinner and no one has any idea. I run out of ideas.

I know what you mean, no one around my house will ever give me ideas on what they would like to eat. Gets tiring trying to come up with something that everyone might like. I made chili for dinner tonight. I am sure they are going to complain though as it feels like 100 degrees outside today.

Let me know if you like it.

Two meals I remember my dear mom making for us at home and one of them was pork chops, smothered with onions and mushroom soup over top, it was delicious. I have eaten it since often. Now the other many here will probably gag and say no way Hose...he he..

Baby beef liver, smothered with slightly browned onions and smashed potatoes on the side. I like to add a little garlic in my potatoes. Gives it that added flavor. You mentioned making Chili today, wow..it's like an oven out here on the Canadian Prairies, not a dish I would be slaving over in my kitchen for sure:0))

Although I love my Chili....great write Susan as always and thanks for the share..

Ken

Liver has never been a favorite of mine but roasted garlic in the mashed potatoes I will eat any day.

It is awful here in Ontario too with the heat and from what I hear tomorrow it is supposed to hit 46 with humidity that is.

I know call me crazy for making chili today, I am sure my husband and son will.

Thanks for stopping by.

It was delicious! I did it exactly as you have it - they had Cream of chicken and Mushroom soup combined (which I've never seen before today). The potatoes just melt in your mouth! Excellent. I made way too much so I even let my pups have a nice dinner - they each got 1/2 of a chop;) lol. Everyone was happy tonight!

Tomorrow night - salmon with tarragon! Thanks so much!

RH, So glad you your family and the pooches enjoyed it and thanks for letting me know.

I do try to go back and comment when I use a recipe that way others can see how it worked out too. When I look for recipes online - I heavily rely on the reviews to decide if I'm going to try it. Food is so expensive now I don't want to waste money on a dish that might end up in the trash. This one is fail proof. My oldest daughter must have come home really late and had some left overs - she just called me from work to tell me she had some and she thought it was awesome! How sweet! Thank you!!

RH, I always too go back to recipes that I have tried and let the person know that I did in fact try it. Thanks again.

rjsadowski, One dish meals are nice to make. Thanks for stopping by and for your comment.

I have made something like this for years... where could I find the Calorie Intake on this recipe? Thanks!

Just Ask Susan 5 months ago

Sherry, I am not really sure about the calorie intake for this dish but I will try and calculate it all out and post it back here for you.

THANK YOU!

Just Ask Susan 5 months ago

Sherry, I went to a site called CalorieKing.com and the approximate calories for this dish per serving of 1 chop would be 635. I calculated the chop, potato, cream of mushroom soup, celery, onion and milk. It could be a bit higher than 635 depending on the size of the chop and the cut you use. Hope that this helps.
