Crank It Up Feel Good Songs With Videos
64
There are songs that no matter where I am or what I am doing as soon as I start to hear them, my feet start tapping and I crank it up.
The first song that comes to mind is “Suite Judy Blue Eyes” by Crosby Stills Nash and Young. I remember driving down the highway in my red 73 Chevy Nova hatchback, in the late 70’s in Washington State and this song would be playing. Try to picture this: Sunny day, windows down, music cranked, singing along as loud as I could, driving down the highway. The “Do do do do do, do do do do do do” starts and it was like I had the need to speed, and off I would go barreling down the highway. Oh how I miss that car. This song then and now has a tendency to cheer me up no matter if I am feeling down or mad at the world.
"Born To Run" by the Boss (Bruce Springsteen) makes me want to stand up, dance and sing "tramps like us baby we were born to run". I am a huge Springsteen fan and many of his songs make me want to jump up and dance not just this one. I have been fortunate enough to have seen him in concert three times and after each concert I usually have a sore throat from singing and screaming along with the rest of his fans.
There is something about AC/DC songs, you cannot just listen to them, you have to listen to them loud, really loud. I can be in the kitchen making lunches at 6:00 a.m.; “Highway To Hell” comes on the radio, immediately I am running to turn up that dial. My kids all know that when AC/DC is playing Mom will be dancing around the kitchen and singing her heart out.
Anything by Van Morrison, but I would have to say one of my feel good songs by Van would be "Wavelength". For me this song is uplifting and calming as so many of Van’s songs are.
A song that I totally get lost in is “Breezin” by George Benson. This song has a tendency to get me in the mood. For me there is so much romance erupting from the chords played by George in this magnificent song. I can just close my eyes, listen and be taken away, it’s better than Calgon.
“King of The Road” brings back wonderful memories of my Dad. When we would be traveling he would always be singing and he did have a pretty good voice. Whenever he was driving and would start singing King of The Road by Roger Miller it meant he wanted my stepmother to light a cigarette for him, it was like a secret code between them. So when I do hear this song I think of all the great road trips and Sunday drives we would take and the song makes smile.
- Songs that take me back
Cruising for some tunes As I was cruising down the freeway a few weeks back, a song popped on the radio that I hadn't heard in years.
There are hundreds of other songs that make me think of a special person, event, or a time in my life but I will stop here.
Do you have a song that is your Feel Good Song? One that you just have to get up and boogie to or listen to it really loud to drown out the sound of your voice? What songs bring a smile to your face or make you do that happy dance?

Omg! I can't believ you love AC/DC too! One of my all time faves - I still know every word to Back In Black! I went to see them in concert around 17 years old - had 2nd row tickets! Angus shook his finger at me when I was taking a drink of wild turkey out of the bottle! I was standing on my chair - you would have been too! LOL
Love Bruce - we really like the same stuff - I did not guess you for AC/DC - I love that! I taught my sister Erin - how to sing every word to You shook me all night long - she was 5! So funny to hear her sing that!
You made my morning with this - I am making appetizers for my friend Mandy - shes having a party today - so I'm just gonna jam to your picks while I slice and dice:)!
I sure do...I love those first few guitar licks on the Rolling Stone's "Start Me Up"...love the whole song but when I hear those notes, it just changes the entire moment. "Midnight Rider" is another one that has a similiar effect on me...makes the hair stand up on my neck! Just about anything off of Johnny River's "Live At The Whiskey-A-Go-Go" can also have adverse effects on me! Thanks for reminding me with this. WB
I feel your pain! Dave is into music as much as me - so we go to lots of concerts together. Love that!
Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Heart, and many more, but, oh, was the 73 Nova a hot car (I didn't have one; my car was a 67 Red Pontiac Tempest, early 70s) but I really liked the Nova too, and AC/DC? Yes, LOUD!
Great - I am going to end up going to bed with Highway to Hell stuck in my head! Today I was listening to the radio on our drive back and Buddy Holly by Weezer came on. I was singing it at the top of my lungs as my kids tried to tune me out by sleeping! LOL
I love music!
Thanks for the link... off to add this one to mine! :)
Hey Susan,
I had such a crush on Bruce Springsteen! This really brings back memories.
Great selections. Thanks for stirring up good memories.
I love Roger Miller and I like Springsteens song sung by Emmy Lou Hasrris. I may be closer to your dads age but I am not all that familiar with the others.
Great Hub Susan. The song that makes me dance, in my kitchen or on the dance floor, ' Old time rock and roll',
by Bob Seger. Thank's
Beautiful hub, Susan. I love music very much. I really enjoy all good songs through this hub. Thanks for writing and share all videos here. You have done a great job, my friend. You deserve to get my VOTE. I'll press all buttons here, except funny. Have a good day!

Love this hub....I have my favorites too as everyone does. I love Motown music and who could forget Roger Miller...oops!!! I did...Thanks for reminding me.
Great Hub, when on Horseback I sing to my horse. Normally George Strait songs, like "Amarillo by morning" or "All my Exs live in Texas". Ian Tyson's Coyote Song is pretty good too. Thanks for this. By the way I like the Boss and Roger Miller as well.
Love it Susan! I appreciate all kinds of music, these are some of my favorites too - and bring back such memories! Sometimes when you feel blue, just play some old tunes....
Susan,
This was so much fun. Thanks for the memories. I'd much rather listen to old songs that bring back thoughts of years gone by. Have a great evening!

...wow what a great hub my lovely fellow Canadian and yes I wish you a most sincere, happy and safe Canada Day to one of my most favorite Canadians here at the Hub - I will be posting this to my Facebook page with a direct link back here because your song selection and obvious good taste absolutely rocks my world big time ......
lake erie time 3:14pm thanks for all of your support - it always means a lot when it's coming from someone as nice and as talented as you ....
You couldn't have picked better tunes, man I just cranked them up when I had my head phones on listening from my laptop. Brought back plenty of great memories when I used to drive around Montreal in my 57 Chevy, then traded in for my 250cc superflame BSA motorcycle, then up to my 650 Triumph Bonneville,, what a ride.
Moved up to beach music by the Beach Boys and YES ROLLING STONES and the BEATLES were my two favorite groups back then...along with some of these later artists you posted here. Thanks for the memories indeed and a HUGE Happy Canada Day to you and yours..Hugs
What great choices!

Great hub, Susan...I love music as much as I love words and the two together thrill my little heart to no end. I have a song for just about every moment of my life and every person in it. This hub has me thinking about them. Maybe I should follow suit with you and Barbergirl and get to publishing my own "Songs" hub! Love it! :-D
